About Kehdoo

Kehdoo lets you craft a gorgeous, animated greeting card in seconds and share it as a single link. No app download, no sign-up, no subscription. Write your message, pick a style, and generate a beautiful page that blooms when the recipient opens it.

You can create and share a card without an account at all: My cards keeps what you make on your device. Sign in only if you want them kept on any device. Either way, cards are shared through a private, unguessable link and aren't indexed by search engines, and any photo you add is resized and stripped of metadata before it's stored.

Send it on WhatsApp, post it on Instagram, print a QR code, or email it. The experience is the same on every device: a full-screen animated greeting with your words front and centre. You can also download it as a PNG or print it as a PDF.

Where the occasion data comes from

Alongside the card maker, Kehdoo keeps a registry of festivals, observances and life occasions in India, with the date each one falls on, what the day means, and how different regions and communities mark it. You can browse it at occasions or by year in the calendar.

Dates are checked against panchangs, state and central government holiday lists, and the bodies that actually set them, and every occasion page lists the sources used and the date a person last verified it. Where sources genuinely disagree, which happens more often than most calendars admit, the page says so and explains the reason rather than quietly picking one. Dates that depend on a moon sighting are marked as estimates until they are confirmed.

If something here is wrong, please tell us. Corrections about a community's own practice are especially welcome, and they get made.

How the writing works

Every article and message guide on this site is researched and written by a person, reviewed before it goes up, and dated. None of it is spun out to fill a page. If a sentence could appear on any other festival's page, it gets cut.

The message guides are built around one idea: a wish works when it says something only you could have written. So the pages tell you what to name, what to avoid, and what to write for a parent, a colleague of another faith, a friend who is fasting or a family that has had a death in the house. For solemn days, the guidance is that the right message is often not “Happy” anything.

We try to be careful about assuming. Not every Indian observes every festival, the same day is kept differently across regions and communities, and plenty of families keep none of it. Where practice varies, the pages name the variation instead of flattening it.

Who we are, and who we are not

Kehdoo is run by the Kehdoo team. It is one product on two sites: kehdoo.in for India and kehdoo.com for everyone else. My cards and your account are the same on both, and a card link opens on either.

Kehdoo has no connection with kehdoo.shop, which is a different site. If a search result or an AI answer mixes the two up, this page is the one that speaks for us. To reach a person, use the contact page or write to hello@kehdoo.com.

What costs money

Nothing, at the moment. Making a card, sharing it, downloading it and reading anything on this site is free, and there is no account required for any of it. Signing in keeps your cards and your saved dates together in My cards, on any device.

Paid extras for a card are coming soon, and nothing is on sale yet. When they arrive, the things that are free today stay free, each extra is a one-time payment, and this page will say what changed.

Our promises

What we will never do, so you can make a card without reading the small print. Paid extras will use wishes, which you buy in small packs. They are coming soon.

  Make as many cards as you like. Nobody needs an account to make one, send one or open one.

• No auto-renew. No subscription that renews by itself, ever.

  Paid extras are coming soon. When they arrive, each one will be a single payment that you make yourself. Nothing takes money again later unless you choose to buy again.

• No watermark, ever.

  Nothing is stamped across your card. A card carries just a small kehdoo.com mark in its corner, and there is nothing to pay to remove anything.

• No ads for you or the person you send it to.

  Kehdoo shows no ads: not while you make a card, and not on the card they open.

• We never sell your guest list or contacts.

  Names and numbers you add are there for you to use. We don't sell them, and no advertiser or wedding vendor gets them from us.

• When you buy wishes, they never expire.

  Paid extras will use wishes, and they aren't on sale yet. Once they are, the wishes you buy stay until you use them. Free bonus wishes from offers can run out, and we'll show their end date.
